Happy 8 Months Baby Boy!

My sweet baby boy... you are 8 months old today and we are loving you more and more as each day passes. I have to say that you have to be the cutest little boy EVER! one day you will read this and say "gosh mom, really?" and i will laugh and say "of course sweetie".

you are doing so much this month and really loving life! you like to pull yourself up and stand and then sit down and do it all over again. so funny. if we help you, you will sit down as if to say "hey i want to do it myself" but then if it takes you too long then you want help again! you are saying "da da", "mama", "na na" (i think that's "no" to you) and "hi"... you wave your hand and go "hiiiiiiiiiii" it's so cute! you always laugh either at something or nothing. i will hear you laughing in the car and i never know what you think is funny, it's just out of the blue! and you love it when i act goofy in the car and sing, i will turn around and you are staring at me smiling. you are doing so much better at crawling, it's still a half crawl, half army crawl but it's so cute! yesterday you followed me into the kitchen for the first time. i know you will be under my feet in no time at all!

you have been sleeping through the night so much now! some nights you still wake up once but it's not bad. i dont mind... last night you slept 9-8 and you went back to sleep again... you are in mommy and daddy's bed right now and you look so comfy. i could just pick you up and hug you but then that would wake you up and you wouldnt like that very much!

when you wake up from your naps or in the morning you are so happy. i will walk in and you are staring at the door and you just light up! then when i go to change your diaper you whine and throw a little temper and say "na na na na"... ha. when you wake up at night i let you go back to sleep on your own until i hear you cry hard and say "ma ma ma ma" and so i have to go get you!!!! you have the cutest little voice!

hmmm let's see what else you are doing. you have been showing a little temper lately. you like to arch your back and yell and growl at me when you dont want something or if i am not giving you what you want.

the other day in the grocery store i put you in the cart and you grabbed my keys. i let you have them not thinking otherwise. i looked down and you had the remote part in your mouth and i took it away cuz i didnt want it to stop working... well you screamed and threw a little fit so i gave you my grocery list... well two min later i looked down and you had a piece of it in your mouth and the rest was a crumpled mess so i took it away and you threw another fit. ha i was like oh gosh someone is going to think i am beating you so i gave you a box of cereal and you were happy. LOL. i have become THAT mom... give you anything to shut you up! ha...

you are daddy's best bud now! you guys have a blast together. when daddy comes in the door you almost jump out of my arms to get to him. yall will play and play so hard and you love it!! daddy puts you up on his shoulders and runs through the house and you laugh so hard. you have the biggest smile and it makes daddy so happy!!!! he loves playing with you. you are definately ALL boy! you love to wrestle and rough house with daddy all the time. i can see that he will be your "hero" for the next few years for sure!

in the evenings you get fussy and you know it's time for bed. when i take you to our bathroom for a bath you get so excited. you love bath time and since we have a huge tub you swim around on your belly with your toys. you will slap your hand on the water and make lots of splashes and look up at me and laugh. after that it's time to eat cereal and then i will nurse you to sleep.

you have been having so much fun with family too. everyone loves seeing you and making you laugh! we love you angel and i am having so much fun being at home with you. we are truly blessed!!!! i hate being away from you for any time and i love taking you everywhere with me. you are such a good baby and are such a ham. you smile at everyone when we go places and so many people give you compliments on how cute and happy you are.

Elijah Dean, you are truly our pride and joy and we thank the Lord every day for you. i love you baby boy. cant wait to see what this month has in store for us!!! let's see, next week you have your first wedding to go to. you will match daddy and mommy. my dress is red and daddy is wearing a black suit with a red tie so we got you a white shirt, black pants and a red tie!!!

you have gone to two college graduations and a high school graduation... pretty soon you will celebrate your first Thanksgiving and Christmas!!! time is flying this year and it's been such a busy year but so fun having you in our lives sweet boy. love you lots!!!
