Elijah's room
Growing up so fast!
Ok, so i was sitting on the couch with the laptop in my lap and before i knew it Elijah was standing up by the ottoman trying to reach the laptop. he is getting better and better at pulling himself up! yesterday we were working in his room and i stood him up in his crib so he could hold on to the railing. well... he started biting on the railing and has scratched his crib!!! LOL it was so funny cuz we just knew it would happen one day. so then he was reaching at his mobile, he has little bears hanging from it. so i laughed and told dennis to look. well i turned my back and then heard a crash. he had grabbed one of the bears and he fell with the mobile and the mobile broke! lol. he bumped his head on a toy in his crib but didnt even look upset. just kinda shocked. ha. i picked him up and he laughed. it was so funny. so bye bye to the crib mobile! he had so much fun being a big boy in his crib, and then he played with a new book i got him. it talks to him and plays music. man, i cant believe how fast he is growing up. it seems like every week there is something new. he is so much fun! :)

Not as decorated as i would like but that will come with time. i just love how bright and open it is! :) oh and i love that it's painted, when we bought this house every room was white. i am slowly but surely getting color added. My next project after Elijah's room is the hallway by the front door. :)

Momma!
Ok, so we went out to eat at Lupe Tortilla last night for Kristina's b'day celebration. There were so many of us there and it was loud and a lot of fun! so anyways, Elijah was in the high chair playing with a toy, sitting between Dennis and I. I looked down and he was reaching for me and goes "momma momma momma" oh my word!!!! i almost flipped out!!! i was like Dennis did you hear him???? he said Momma!!!!!!! i wanted to cry and jump up and down! LOL.... anyways... so my baby boy said "momma" and he was looking and reaching for me!!!!! i am so proud. i will always remember this moment for the rest of my life! :)

the other night
the other night i was rocking my 7 month old while he screamed for a whole hour... he had a stopped up nose and couldnt breathe when he tried to suck his thumb... i thought to myself "i can get upset because i want him to go to sleep and stop crying, or i can just sit here and hold him and let him know he is loved". I chose to rock him and keep him close, even though it was so hard to listen to him scream for so long. he is a very persistent little guy that's for sure. i wanted to call my mom for help but i knew she would not be able to hear me in the midst of his high pitch screams. the same screams that would almost make me insane when he was really small and i didnt know what was wrong with him. now i know why he is upset or what he wants, even though i cant always fix it i can at least be there for him.
after reading a post from my friend jenny and from another fellow blogger it made me want to post something really quick. being a mom is the hardest job ever... and like she said yes us mom's need to always be on the same team, help each other out, and lift each other up. i have always been around babies and have seen how well my mom took care of them and learned so much. but being a mom brings my insecurities out. after i put him down for a nap i wonder if he is cold and check on him more than once, at night i wonder if it's too dark for him, if he ate enough, if he needs another blanket, should i turn the fan on or off?? etc.... it can make you crazy. but in the end he is fine and i can relax, until it's time to do it all over again! if i sat and thought about all the things i could do wrong in the next 18 years i would go insane for sure! i just pray that God holds our hands along the way and helps us to make the right decisions for our son and any other future children we have. it's a scary world out there!

while i was rocking him it made me sad to think that when he is older he wont remember me sitting there holding him and patiently waiting for him to stop crying. he wont remember the sleepless nights that i had when he would want to be awake, or when he was sick. he wont remember any of the sacrifices that i made for him, not that i need to be repaid for it. i love being a mom, but it makes me sad to know that he is going to be growing away from me as each year passes, he will need me less and less. dont get me wrong, i want him to grow to be a strong, godly man, but i also want him to know how much i love him and that i did everything and would do anything for him. do you know what i mean? i am just rambling... but it was just something i was thinking about... i know my mom took great care of me but i dont remember all the sacrifices she made for me. now i have an idea of what she did for me!!! :) maybe one day my son will realize that i would never trade being a mom for anything in the world, and i would give my life for him in a heartbeat...
to all you mom's out there i just want to say--Keep up the good work! what works for you may not work for every mom-- but keep blogging about your techniques cuz new mom's like me need as much advice as I can get!!! :)
i would also like to say that my heart truly goes out to any mom's that have lost a child. i could not even imagine the pain. words can not express the sadness i feel when i hear about a mother losing a precious child. I may not understand what you are going through, but I am here for support in any way that you need it. My prayers are with you.

Happy 7 months little man
Dear Elijah Dean,
We are having more fun with you every day. You are the sweetest little baby boy ever. I love seeing you first thing in the morning, holding you, hugging you, kissing you, making you laugh, playing with you, feeding you, rocking you, giving you your bath at night, and kissing you goodnight. You and your daddy are best buds too! you light up when daddy comes home from work and you know it's time to play!!! i love seeing you two together. You truly make our lives complete. How did we get to be so blessed??? What did we do to deserve such a perfect little angel????
This month has been a busy one, it has flown by so fast but at the same time we have made sure to give you as much attention as possible. You are enjoying living by family, since we see them a lot more. you have so much fun with everyone! You are sitting so well now, and when you want something you can go from sitting to scooting on your belly in seconds. lately you have started doing the army crawl. LOL it's so cute. you are working on crawling though, we keep seeing you pick your knees up and scoot and then that's it for the moment. I know you will be crawling sometime this month. I have figured out that you are just content to play in one little area with all your toys, and then it's time to be picked up and go somewhere else. I can just see you following me from room to room before I know it... it makes me sad to see you grow so fast, but you are still my baby. everything about you is still very much baby. i know i have been dressing you a little more grown up lately, but when i look into your face i see my small baby that needs us so much.
when i lay you on your side in your crib for naps you roll over and lay on the other side of the bed and go to sleep. it's so cute!! you do it so fast as if to say "not this side mom, THIS side" LOL. and sometimes you take naps with me and when i lay you down in bed you roll until you are laying against me and you fall asleep. i just LOVE it... when you take really long naps i miss you. it's funny... you are just so much more fun now and so i really miss you if you sleep longer than an hour. but i promise i dont wake you up! i know you need your rest for your busy day.
when you are playing on the floor and i walk up saying "i'm gonna get you", you roll away and start laughing hysterically... you love it when we play with you and do silly things to make you laugh! you also love it when i sing along with the radio and act goofy, you will stop whatever you are doing and watch me and laugh. if i am singing normally in the car you will turn your head towards me and watch me and then fall asleep... soooooo sweet!!!! lately we have been standing you up by the ottoman and you get so excited, i know you will love it when you are able to pull yourself up. Oh and your favorite time of the day is bath time!!! i have a cup that i use to pour water over you and you love to chase it in the bath tub. you smell so good after bath time and then you know it's time for bed.
Mommy and Daddy love you sweet boy. We always will and we can only love you more and more with each new day. hugs and kisses sweetie, this next month with be even more fun with you!!! *muah*
p.s. Thanks Jenny for this adorable outfit!!! We love it!
oh i almost forgot, you say "da da" and "hi" and you do this cute little fake cough... oh and sometimes you give us a "high five" it's so cute!!! you are so smart. you look at daddy and go "da da" or "hi da da" it's sooooo adorable!!! :)

I have been slacking...

took this one with my phone so it's not as clear but he is just so cute! :)
ok ok, so by request i am updating my blog. LOL sorry Jenny... i always think about doing this and then i get so busy and forget. i had to upload my camera to the computer and there was well over 100 pictures to put on here!!!! ahhhhhh. well at least that says i am taking pics of my little one!!!! even though i dont ever have time to share them with the world.
anyways. we are doing good. staying busy. we have painted the living room and our bedroom and half of Elijah's room. i have to get the other color for the top half of his walls. i will definately post pics once the job is somewhat done. we have done the bottom color and it looks good!
elijah has been the sweetest most wonderful baby ever. he is so cuddly and fun to be around. he is getting to be very demanding though. when he wants something he will let you know. he is trying to crawl but not quite there yet. but he moves around a lot. he generally stays in the same area i put him in with his toys. he is more interested in his toys and what i am doing than anything else. he will play for a little while and then want me to pick him up and he gets so excited and will bite my shoulder!!! i am trying to break him of that before it gets tooo difficult to stop. he listens most the time when i tell him not to bite but sometimes he just does it cuz he thinks he is soooo funny. my little boy is growing up so fast. he will be 7 months next week. it's soooo crazy!
this saturday is my brother and his fiance's graduation! we are so excited for them. they have worked so hard for this. both of them will be 20 years old at their college graduation!!! can you believe it? ryan will be 21 in october and elsa will be 21 in march. i am so proud of their accomplishments. then they will be married september 18th. i am sooooooooo excited for them, they have spent the last 4 years working hard and building a great relationship with each other and family and friends. my sister and I are in their wedding so we are looking forward to getting all dressed up for it. i know that i will cry at their wedding! LOL i know it seems silly but really i have never seen two people work harder, or have that much determination. congratulations you two. i love you both!!!
we have three birthdays this month too. then sept is the wedding and our family is visiting and then my sis and i are going to throw a shower for my other brother and his fiance (getting married in january) and then the holidays.... sigh... before i know it my baby boy will be one year old... i am going to pray that time slows down somewhat. but i am enjoying him more every day.
here are some pics and i will soon post some of our house. :)
