I sometimes think about what Christ has done for us... and the fact that He never had hatred toward others no matter what they did to Him. He was yelled at, spit on and beaten... and we think we have it rough. i know there are those out there who's lives are horrible but at the same time do we ever just sit and think about how wonderful we do have it, compared to what Jesus did to save us? of course i do not want to experience what He went through just so i know, and i can say i did. i am just grateful to know WHAT He did and know that He did it for us. not for Himself... sure in some way He did it for Himself... He knew that without His sacrifice He would not see us in Heaven with Him and the Father... so He did it just so we could go home to Him one day and worship with Him at God's throne...of course i would hardly call that selfishness, i call that the true meaning of LOVE....
sometimes someone will do something to me or say something to me or the one's i love and i get mad... i think things i shouldnt... i say things i shouldnt... but what did Jesus do? He forgave. and forgiveness is the key to happiness. unforgiveness turns into bitterness and it will eat us alive. i know i dont want to be bitter. i know that if i am it will rub off on to the people that are in my life, and that is not something i want to be responsible for. i want to rub off the happiness and joy that is in my life.
things dont always go our way. and sometimes i would love to scream at the top of my lungs and shake my fist up toward heaven and ask God "why me" or "why not me?" but what good does that do? why yell at the One who created me and the ones i love and the world i live in and the One who loves me more than anyone else on earth? we are human and we always look for someone to blame, and why not someone whom we can't see???? but what good does it do to blame God or blame anyone for that matter? we only hurt ourselves and the ones around us. God loves each and everyone of us and He knows the choices we make, and our heart's desires.... He says to keep asking, the answer may not be yes, or no but it may be "not right now" and we have to be patient. but He never says that because we dont hear an answer for us to stop asking... faith is a big part of my life... if i did not have faith i do not know where i would be to this day. no one can take away my faith. i thank God every day for my life and what He has done for me. even if i dont see anything happen today, or hear an answer i still thank Him. honestly, we do not see all He does in our lives from day to day. think about it... when you look at the minor details of your day do you ever stop and wonder "hey i think that was God"? i dont think we do that enough....
when i was young i helped my little brother learn to ride his bike. Wade was little and i dont remember how young but when he was on that bike and i would hold on to the handle and seat he would repeat over and over "i can do all things through Jesus". Now that is amazing and wonderful for a small child to say that when he is scared to death of falling over and getting hurt... He knew that God would help him and he said it over and over and sure enough he learned to ride that bike. no matter what he was going to do it and do it he did... do we do that enough in our lives???? do we ask Him for help and thank Him no matter what the answer is????

Those are thought provoking words Kristen. Crazy how we can put our trust in weak, imperfect people, and yet fail to trust the perfect God we serve! It's hard to be vulnerable with someone we can't touch or feel, but the moments I just let go, there is such a freedom and liberty that comes over me!
what a great post kristen!! i love it....it gives me lots to think about. what an awesome god we serve...without him we would be nothing. love ya girl!!
wow girl it looks good i like how you put the bible verses at the top. that post got me thinking. jlc.
good post Kristen. I was thinking along those lines today on my way home. I tend to search for answers, and solutions on my own... and when I can't find a way I remember that I can't do ANYTHING without Him. I love you babe. Again, great post.
Love,
Dennis
