Your pregnancy: 18 weeks
How your baby's growing:Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long aboutt the length of a bell pepper ) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

ok so this is getting more and more exciting... my baby kicks me all the time... last night i was laying on the couch on my side and i breathed in really deep and back out and the baby just went crazy kicking me over and over LOL... of course the baby stops right when dennis wants to come over and feel him/her... then last night we went to bed and both of us were just so tired and dennis put his hand on my tummy and the baby kicked him several times... dennis hasnt felt the baby much lately so this made his day... he is going to have his hand on my belly all the time the further along i get!!! i cant wait for the baby to start getting excited when he/she hears their daddy's voice after a long day at work... it will be fun!!!
i am doing really good. some days i am more tired than others but i am feeling great. i drink lots of water and i eat decently... hahah i dont eat the best but i try. just depends on what i am craving at the time...
i cant wait to see my family in just two days! it will be exciting. and i know my mom cant wait cuz the last time i saw her i was 13 weeks along... so maybe now she will feel the baby kick...and i KNOW she wants to see my belly in person! hahaah!!!! oh and just six more days till we see our baby and what he/she is... i cant wait... it's going to be the greatest feeling in the world to see our little baby again. it's been so long since we last saw our baby kicking around...

kristen, your belly is adorable. it's getting more noticeable now. it's starting to look more round too. aren't you just loving it?!?! i hope your little one decides not to be modest when you go for your appt. usually boys let it all hang out...they're so proud!! i'm not so sure about girls. anyway, 6more days!! whoo hoo! keep up with the belly pics...i love them.
try putting a flash light on your belly and see what the baby does. camden would flip out every time. when you use the doppler what does the baby do? does he/she move away from it?
aw thanks Jenny. ya i hope he/she lets us see what they are!
yes i love that it's rounding out. it's funny i will be sitting on the couch and dennis is like show me your belly and then his eyes light up and he goes "wow". he loves it too!
ya i thought about the flashlight thing but someone told me not to do it too much cuz it can affect their eyes??? is that true? but ya i want to try that maybe when the baby gets a little bigger... that way dennis can feel the baby for sure.
when i use the heart doppler the baby moves all over the place and i chase him/her down! LOL it's fun!
thanks for the comments. you are so sweet!
i don't think the flash light would hurt their eyes...i think it was our doctor that said to try it out. you do what you think is best! actually the baby's eyes don't even open until somewhere after the 25th week anyway.
poor camden, i'm always flashing the camera in his eyes. he's probably blind and i don't even know it. ha! i'm just teasing. i do wonder if it's hurting him, though??
hmmmmmmmm i dont know. i was just told not to do it too much that's all. but to do it once in a while wouldnt hurt... i want to try it soon
and i am sure you are not hurting him at all! LOL
he is so photogenic!
wow only 6 more days!!! Thats so exciting! Can't wait to see you guys this weekend!
Wow, time is ticking away! Pretty soon you will know if it is a she or a he. Boys are tons of fun, but as I am getting closer to the having this little girl I am getting excited to see what she will be like. It will be exciting to have a shopping partner too someday. Either one is great I think personally. God knows what is best for you and your hubby! Your belly is looking cute. You don't seem to be showing too much though. Just right on target. I can say that with Caleb my whole belly just stuck out straight but with this one I have expanded on the sides. In my case it has been very true to what they say about boys you go out and girls you go out on the sides. Anyways, just keep resting when you can and enjoy being preggo. That is what I have to keep telling myself too.
congrats on 18 wks girl! i can't believe you will be 5 months soon.. it seems like you just told us you were prego! lol. i can't wait to know what yall are having.. hopefully the baby wont hide lol. my cousin is having her second baby at the end of this month and they had a girl the first time so they really wanted a boy. so they went to the ultrasound and sure enough the baby was in hiding! lol. just the position it was in they couldn't tell what it was. so they went a week later and found out it was a boy. hopefully dkbaby won't be in hiding because everyone is too anxious to know! lol. well i hope you have a great week (can't believe its already wednesday) and a great weekend with your fam. i could tell your belly was getting bigger this weekend from the last time i saw you. love ya girl. i'll talk to ya later. -little e
thanks alicia. ya i am definately going out front and not getting wider. which i am thankful for. LOL
my butt is getting bigger for sure though! ha gotta keep me balanced... i am gaining weight other places, which is from not working out much. but that's ok. i will get it off after the baby is born. i really love being pregnant. i am so excited that this is a great pregnancy so far...
your little princess will be so adorable.
oh joni, gosh i hope the baby isnt hiding. the closer we get the more stories i hear about the babies hiding themselves or being shy. ahhhhhhhhhhhhh i hope and pray ours isnt. i am just tooo ready to know NOW! LOL
ya my belly is slowly but surely sticking out. it's not what i expected at all. i thought you show so fast but i guess cuz i am taller i hide it more.
you're lookin' good babe. ;-)
ya.. and you dont look like what you say you weigh at all.. when i get prego i'll probably show quick cuz i'm short and have a really short torso. LOL.
Aww...look at your belly! So sweet! And I can't believe how fast the time is going...only 6 days until we find out?! I can't wait!!
Kristen, your tummy is so cute! Can't wait to see you in a couple days!
I remember both times when I was pregnant, Andrew would lay in front of me on our sides and the baby would kick his back all night! hahahaa! And we could see the baby actually moving. The baby would move from being upside-down to rightside-up all the time and we could really see that! I always felt like they were doing flips in there and it felt so crazy. Like there was some crazed fish flip-fopping around!
enjoy your weekend with your family, kristen!
thanks for the comment!
