How Elijah is growing:He weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel- the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.) He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
oh my goodness. 20 weeks. this is so unbelievable... dennis and i were talking about it last night and to him it doesnt feel like we are halfway there... since we found out at a little over 4 weeks he said that once we are halfway from that 4 weeks then he will feel it too. LOL. he is so cute. i still cant believe that we are this far... Elijah is so active and he sleeps at night with me and then is awake most the day... i hope that's a good sign! lately even when i get up to go the bathroom at night he doesnt move at all. i get back in bed and am asleep again and dont even feel one movement. but then when i get up in the morning he is awake and making himself known.
i am still trying to decide on bedding. i think i want that last bedding i posted but dennis and i agree that instead of polka dots we will do stripes with the same color scheme... dennis is not too fond of polka dots and i dont care. i just love the colors and want to make up my mind now! i am going to go look at material with my mom soon cuz she said she would help me make some things for his room. it will be so much fun!
we had a lot of fun registering the other day... dennis was scanning camo outfits and polo onsies and i was scanning the outfits that i thought would suit a little baby! i know that dennis understands he is going to be a baby at first but i know he cant wait to have a little toddler who will run into his arms when his daddy comes home from work...i just want my baby to stay a baby for as long as possible!
this past weekend was a lot of fun. we had a great time off together... saturday we went to subway and then to register at babysrus... we are not finished because my feet were killing me so we will go back and register for some more things.... then sunday we went to church and to eat with some friends and then just relaxed at home and watched a movie together.
monday we got up and cleaned and my brother Wade and his gf Priscilla came over and we had a lot of fun. we went to show them a house that we really like and then we went to a few other stores and to eat and then home to relax. we watched a movie and i made pot roast and mashed potatoes. mmmmmmmmmmmmm... oh and we had brownies too! :)
i enjoy my brother and his gf so much. we all have so much fun together and laugh a lot. when Dennis and Wade get together they are always picking on us girls and making jokes. there is never a dull moment that's for sure. then of course tuesday came and they left and we went back to work. bleh!!! i did not want to get up early. it was so nice sleeping in for three days straight!
this month is going to be a busy one for me so i am trying to stay organized. now that i will be counting down the next 20 weeks until we see our little one i am sure at times it will seem like time is flying and then im sure it will seem like it's crawling... i just love this time of the year so i love that i am pregnant now! and have so much to look forward to.

happy five months! i think your belly has grown a little! :) yes hopefully elijah will keep the same schedule so yall can sleep when he comes home! ha ha. you can only hope for the best right? lol. that's cool yall started registering... i bet yall picked out some cute stuff. i'm glad you had a good weekend with everyone. hey elijah is the length of a banana now? he's growing! hope you have a good rest of the week. love ya.

i love how they compare the baby to different foods. i can just picture a big banana floating around in your tummy. ha! a really cute banana, though. way to go...20 weeks already. you could actually have a baby in less than 20 weeks. if you had him at 37 weeks, you only have 17 weeks left. not long at all. can't wait for your shower! where will it be?
your weekend sounds like so much fun! you got to be with your hubby and some family. you sure are cooking a lot lately. all your food sounds so yummy...i want pot roast really bad now. thanks! oh and some brownies covered in vanilla ice cream. yum.

i think the shower is going to be at my mom's or my sister's house. not sure yet...wow if he comes early i dont know if i will be ready! LOL i just want him to come a few weeks after christmas... give me some time to recuperate...
i love to cook! but i have been lazy lately. i used to cook every night. maybe i will get back into it soon. today has been long and i have hours of work left to do as is...
You look great for 20 weeks. Halfway through makes you feel like you have accomplished something. It feels good right?! Hope everything is going good for you. Love the new little outfit too. It is so weird that you said Dennis can't wait for the little guy to come running up to him when he gets home from work. Caleb does that now to Josh and I remember like it was just yesterday when Josh would say that to me. We would hold this little newborn and just stare at him and dream of what he would be like when he got older and we are seeing things happen right before our eyes what we were dreaming of then. Love and hold them when they are newborns as much as you can and cherish the every single minute like it was your last cause they grow so fast!

Hey Kristen!! I am so sorry it took me this long to check out the blog!! We had to go to Andrew's dad's house for the hurricane. Anyway, I am sooooo excited for you guys! Elijah looks so cute already. Can't wait to go to BabiesRUs-yay!!!! I haven't got to shop for little boys yet so this will be so much fun for me!!

Your belly doesn't look that much bigger from 18 to 20 but you will wake up one day and it will be like a growth spurt!
We had such a great time with you too, we love being over there! I can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks!
