Happy 17 Months Elijah!

Sweet angel of mine...Happy 17 months... i can not believe you are 17 months old today. 1 year 5 months as your Uncle Ryan would remind me. :) he is the goofy uncle... dont forget that!

i love writing to you each month. i should write you more often because even though the months seems short they are jam packed with so many new things you are doing.

you have definately been growing up so much faster the past couple of months. Everyone has noticed it. It makes me such a proud momma, but kinda sad too, my baby is growing up too fast!

you are soooo smart, and even though other moms think their babies are smart, well you are the smartest to me! :) but i will always think that no matter how old you are cuz i am your MOMMA!!!! :)

This month you have been doing so much more and understanding most of what we say to you. we took you on your first vacation to Indiana. you and daddy got to meet some of my family for the first time. you were so good!!!! the best kid on the 20 hour trip both ways! Thank you sweetie for being so awesome in the car when i know you wanted to get out and run around like crazy.

you mimic everything we do, from what we say to our facial expressions and how we stand or sit. it's soooooo adorable! your favorite thing to do in the morning and at night is to get in our bed and watch a movie. i will say "want to watch a movie in momma's bed?" and you nod your head and say "yeah" and grab doggy and head that way... you LOVE the movie Cars and daddy got you a little "Cars" suitcase to store all your cars in it. he gets you toys all the time and you love it! we have gotten you a nice little collection of cars going and you couldnt be happier. when you are done watching a movie you get out of our bed and go to your play room and find your cars and making car sounds all over the house. it's so cute!!! you love to run the cars along the furniture and over my arms and legs, while making all the cute car noises you have learned to make.

i think we will have a "Cars" themed birthday for you when you turn 2. but i am glad it's not for a while... 7 months away. sigh... where is the time going???

you are talking like crazy and you are so polite as always... you always say "thank you" and it's getting so clear that everyone understands you now. you love to sit in my lap and face me and have a conversation with me. it's so entertaining. i love to just drop everything and smile and nod while you tell me about your day. you talk and waive your hands around. i love it!!! you talk with your hands just like mommy does. :)

you look so much like your daddy but you have my cheesy grin. :) you are soooooooo precious! everyone in Indiana had a blast with you. they said you are such a great kid! and cool too! Uncle Josh thinks you are a hilarious kid too. you love it when we go visit him. he is def your favorite. :)

you are learning everyone's names in the family and you will run up to them and have them pick you up. you arent as shy as you used to be... you definately recognize everyone. if someone else has the same name you get kinda confused... like "hey that isnt Uncle Josh!" ha it's funny to see the confused look on your face. this happened when we went to hang out with my friend Lindsey and her boys. one of them is named Joshua... it was very weird for you but you had fun playing with him anyway.

Grandma asked you if you wanted a baby sister and you nodded your head and said "yea" lol... well one day maybe sweet boy. one day... right now we are enjoying every minute with our wonderful, amazing, sweet baby boy!

you love to mimic dogs and cats. and when you wake up from a nap you wake up with a huge smile and say "doggy, woof woof"... your best friend is your doggy and he goes everywhere with you!

i measured you the other day and if i did it right (it's hard cuz you dont sit still for long) you are 33 inches tall, and 25 lbs.! such a big boy!!!! you love to eat pizza now. you always eat it backwards though. sooo funny. and you love pancakes as long as i put a little bit of syrup on your tray. i showed you how to dip it one time and that's how you eat them on your own now.

when we let you walk when we go places you run all over the places and run up to strangers and talk to them and then run off. ha... we definately have to keep up with you, you are so full of energy! your temper is getting a little better. you obey so much better now too. i'm so proud to be your momma!!! :)

well sweetie i could go on forever but i will cut this off. we love you so much more than yesterday and will love you even more tomorrow. :)
