my dr. app. went well yesterday. i am measuring 24 cm... so right on track. i am thinking i am about a week ahead BUT the good thing is that my dr. doesnt induce until i am 7 days late so that will give my baby about two weeks to come on his own!
his heartbeat was 150... and he was kicking the dr. while she was listening.
i have to have my gestational test in four weeks, bleh! more blood work... i hate blood work. but it's ok. it hasnt been as bad as i thought. i havent had to have blood taken the past two to three visits so that's been great!
i am also excited because the hospital i want to deliver in will be covered by our insurance and it's an awesome hospital. the staff are so nice and the rooms are HUGE! plus you stay in one room the whole time unless they whisk you off for a c-section... and they have a comfy couch for Dennis to sleep on so that's a plus!
we are going to take a tour of the hospital and get pre-registered soon. i am not in a rush but i want to do it before the holidays.
i can not believe that in just a few days it will be October... and then my shower! i am so excited. it will be so great to see all my family and friends... :) and then thanksgiving and pretty weather! i love this time of year. it's so nice out and a great time to take walks... which i will be doing more of since i gained a little too much these past 4 weeks :(
well not much else is going on... dennis is off with me this weekend so we are going to sleep in and go see a movie! it's going to be a gorgeous weekend so i am sure we will have fun... and take walks :)
i hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

23 weeks

How Elijah's growing:Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing his for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.
i just love this picture... i cant wait to see what he looks like... it's funny i was watching my belly last night and he was making it move... he would kick or punch hard and i just loved watching...
ok so i have experienced some pretty strong ligament pain... it is NOT fun. especially when Elijah thinks it's fun to kick mommy in that area.... it was on my right side down low most the morning yesterday and boy did it hurt... then he would shift over there and kick and i would almost double over... luckily i am feeling much better now.
i cant believe that i have 17 weeks (give or take) left... it's so awesome and amazing. having his bed together is so nice, we both walk in there from time to time to check it out. it's such a big change of scenery for us, cuz it's always been just the two of us. now we will always have another bed for our little guy to sleep in... (well until he moves out but that wont be for quite a while!)
i hope that everyone is doing well... my family is still out of power due to Ike. i feel so bad and i know the temperatures are taking a toll on them. i pray that the power is turned on today!
have a wonderful wednesday everyone! God bless!

22 weeks-18 weeks left!
How Elijah's growing:At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.
Wow 22 weeks. i am feeling the weight of my belly so much more now. and my back has been hurting a lot more and a lot faster if i do too much. it's ok though! i am still enjoying being pregnant... my little guy moves so much and he does so crazy stuff in side my belly, that's for sure!
i havent been eating all that well the past week so i am nervous about my dr. appointment that i have for next week... i think i will try to do better this week and just see how it goes! it stinks... for the first day in our entire marriage i am not wearing my wedding ring :( and it makes me sad... i had a hard time taking it off but just to be safe i am going to keep it off until after Elijah comes. i am wearing it around my neck but i need to get it sautered together soon... :( my hands feel empty!
it's funny the new pic doesnt look too much different from my last but this week everyone has said i definately look pregnant... i had wanted my hubby to take a pic for me but we didnt have a chance to today and i wanted to get my post up before i got off of work.
so we have the bed and the bedding! the bedding came in today. it's gorgeous! and so soft... and we are going to go get him a mattress today and then i am going to wash the clothes we have gotten him so far... i want to get little infant hangers and hang them up too! i have to finish cleaning out the guest room closet so that we can put his bed up once the room is cleared... we are so excited! it's going to look so cute! and i am also getting some of our Christmas shopping done early. so that helps. i have a lot to do in such a short time...
i am so thankful for this cool front that came through... i know it's working wonders for those that are out of power from hurrican Ike's destruction... i am praying for you guys to get your power back and for everything to go smoothly with the repairs of your homes... thankfully my family was safe and the worst thing that happened was trees falling all over their pool, fence, and storage shed... everyone of them were protected and now they are just waiting on the electricity to come back on...
we have had my sister in laws with us and it's been nice. it was a crazy weekend with everyone but my one sis in law left with her three kids and it has calmed down a little. it was still fun being with everyone. i love my nieces and nephew so much. they are growing up and so much fun to talk to and hang out with...
i love hanging out with my sis in laws too... we have been running errands and watching our favorite shows in the evening and just eating and eating more LOL... my sis in law Joni has made brownies twice now! mmmmmmmmmmmmm.... and i love having them come up to see me at work... we all four get to go to lunch together too which is very nice! i will miss them when they go back home... :(
we had a joke going cuz my nephew Braeden (he is 4 and a half) didnt understand that i had a baby in my belly. so he kept saying "no uncle Dennis has baby in belly"... and we played on that... i loved it... i would say "hey Braeden, go rub Dennis' baby in belly" LOL... everyone would laugh and laugh and Braeden would laugh hysterically as he rubbed Dennis' belly! it was so fun!
i just love those kids so much... it was fun to talk to them and play with them while thinking "hey one day i am going to have a child this age and it's going to be great!"
i cant wait to see Elijah grow up and i pray that he grows into a man of God... i owe Jesus so much and i will do my best to show Elijah that no matter what-Jesus is THE way and that his duty in life is to serve Him.

Hurricane Ike
I would like to ask for everyone to please pray for my family and friends and everyone else that live in the path that hurricane Ike traveled over the past few days... most of them are out of power and might be out for weeks. i know this is miserable considering fall is not quite here... but i pray that this cool front keeps everyone sane and out of the heat for as long as the power is out. i wish there was something i could do for everyone but for now i will pray you guys have the patience to stand this. i also want to pray for every person that lost something in this storm... a lot of people have lost their homes and can not even begin to go back to start over yet. they are told to wait until the power is back on and the water has subsided.... this breaks my heart knowing that so many people are suffering, but i pray that God is there for each and everyone of them and keeps them strong.
thanks so much...
To my family, i love you guys and miss you and i am sorry about all of this. i know it was a horrible storm but i am so thankful that yall are safe...
thanks so much...

The crib and bedding

This is the bedding and the crib that we got... the crib was on sale at target and we couldnt resist! and the bedding was on sale at jcpenney so that was a plus! i am so excited. i am hoping that in no more than a month i can have all of this set up and take pics! what do you guys think? i was kinda sad cuz the other bedding i wanted was so nice but gosh they grow up so fast and there is no use in spending a fortune on something they wont use long... AND my husband came up with a great idea for the room. we are going to do some creative painting on the walls once we get our house... his room is going to be so cute and so much fun for us! it will be so fun working with Dennis on creating this masterpiece! :) oh and i think i will do Elijah's bathroom in dark blue, white and lime green colors... stripes and solids... i think that's going to be so adorable!!!
Also! i would like to congratulate my wonderful husband!!!! he was promoted at his job and i am soooooooooooooooo proud of him!!! he has worked so hard for this.. in about a month all the perks he will get will be final but for now he has his promotion and i just want to say congratulations sweetie! thank you for all your hard work and long hours put in... i am so grateful for you... you are such a great provider and a wonderful husband and you are going to be the most wonderful father ever! our little boy is going to adore you and look up to you so much! i love you!
Crazy day!!! Calls for crazy weekend!
ok so this hurricane Ike is just causing all sorts of drama!!!! apparently most of the galveston and some of houston have been evacuated!!! so my three sister in laws and my two nieces and nephew are coming up here to stay with us!!! it's going to be crazyyyyyyyyyyyy here! LOL
but i know it will be fun... i have to work but once i get home the craziness will begin!!!
i am excited to see them, but very sad that they are coming due to a bad storm. i pray that once it hits land it dies off. i dont want anyone losing homes or cars or worse of all their lives. i pray that God has his hand on the areas that are supposed to be hit or that are getting hit as we speak. please pray for all of these people!
on other news, we bought our very first crib for our very first baby!!!! how exciting is that???? it's gorgeous but of course it's still in the box LOL... we have to get the mattress and we are waiting on the bedding to come in... oh and we found four little onsie t's for Elijah too!! they were on sale for $3 BUT two of them came together and were $3 so we paid $9 for the cutest t's ever!! one of them says "100% baby boy" the other says "i love mommy" and i forget what the others say... but they were just adorable... and dennis loved them too! so that's a good sign that i have good taste.. :)
once everything is put together and the bedding is in i will post pics for sure... i just cant wait till we get our house and we can make his room as perfect as it can be!!!

Counting down-19 weeks to go
How Elijah is growing:Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like he's practicing martial arts as his initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to his activity as you get to know him better. Elijah's eyebrows and lids are present now.
i laugh at how they say his flutters are turning into full fledged kicks now... he has been doing that for about 5 weeks now! my little guy loves to kick me... and it's funny... depending on his mood he moves when he hears certain sounds... but for the most part when he is still, all i have to do is say "hey Elijah, mommy loves you" and he moves! he will kick me once or just get really active. it just depends... i can be laughing at a tv show or talking on the phone and he is quiet but when i get off the phone or pause the tv i can say his name and that i love him and he moves and kicks me... and it's so cool that i am learning the pattern of his activity too... it's so much fun getting to know this little guy even before i see him and hold him and can kiss his sweet face...
this has to be the greatest joy in my life. i just cant believe it sometimes and feel as if i am dreaming... God is so good!
on other news, not much going on really. i think i found the bedding i want and it's a whole lot cheaper! haha... i was going to see if my mom could make it... but i think with me not having a whole lot of time to get down there and the stress of thinking about it and not being able to find the perfect material... i will just get this one that i have picked out. Dennis likes it and my mom said she thinks it's cute... i will have my mom make curtains though! she does such a great job with making things... and i feel bad not having her make everything but i think this will be easier on both of us... and once we get into our house and i measure the window and find the material to match some of his bedding she will love making the curtains for him... i know she is making a blanket for him though! i am not allowed to see it until it's done but it's what she does for her friends who have babies and she made my sister a gorgeous blanket for Addyson... i just cant wait to see it! mom i know you are going to do an awesome job!!! i promise not to try to peek when i come to visit!
other than that i am getting over a pretty bad cold. it hit me so hard monday night and i didnt sleep much... but i had inventory on tuesday so i went in and didnt last but six hours at work and so i left and went home... dennis took great care of me and got me some medicine and vitamin c and made me dinner and cleaned up too! i just laid on the couch from 12 to 10 and by then i felt a lot better and i actually got a great night sleep last night... thank you sweetie for taking such great care of me! i am so thankful you were home with me!
i hope for all of you that are sick or have little ones that are sick, that you all get better quickly and enjoy the rest of your week.

THE bedding we want!
what do you guys think? this is the bedding Dennis and I BOTH agree on so i think we will go with it... i want to still look for material and see what we can find. it would be nice to have my mom make it and save money! i am all about saving money, plus my mom does a great job! i think i will do a solid sheet instead of the polk-a-dots though... i just love the blanket!

Halfway Thru! wow!!!! 20 weeks!
How Elijah is growing:He weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel- the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.) He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
oh my goodness. 20 weeks. this is so unbelievable... dennis and i were talking about it last night and to him it doesnt feel like we are halfway there... since we found out at a little over 4 weeks he said that once we are halfway from that 4 weeks then he will feel it too. LOL. he is so cute. i still cant believe that we are this far... Elijah is so active and he sleeps at night with me and then is awake most the day... i hope that's a good sign! lately even when i get up to go the bathroom at night he doesnt move at all. i get back in bed and am asleep again and dont even feel one movement. but then when i get up in the morning he is awake and making himself known.
i am still trying to decide on bedding. i think i want that last bedding i posted but dennis and i agree that instead of polka dots we will do stripes with the same color scheme... dennis is not too fond of polka dots and i dont care. i just love the colors and want to make up my mind now! i am going to go look at material with my mom soon cuz she said she would help me make some things for his room. it will be so much fun!
we had a lot of fun registering the other day... dennis was scanning camo outfits and polo onsies and i was scanning the outfits that i thought would suit a little baby! i know that dennis understands he is going to be a baby at first but i know he cant wait to have a little toddler who will run into his arms when his daddy comes home from work...i just want my baby to stay a baby for as long as possible!
this past weekend was a lot of fun. we had a great time off together... saturday we went to subway and then to register at babysrus... we are not finished because my feet were killing me so we will go back and register for some more things.... then sunday we went to church and to eat with some friends and then just relaxed at home and watched a movie together.
monday we got up and cleaned and my brother Wade and his gf Priscilla came over and we had a lot of fun. we went to show them a house that we really like and then we went to a few other stores and to eat and then home to relax. we watched a movie and i made pot roast and mashed potatoes. mmmmmmmmmmmmm... oh and we had brownies too! :)
i enjoy my brother and his gf so much. we all have so much fun together and laugh a lot. when Dennis and Wade get together they are always picking on us girls and making jokes. there is never a dull moment that's for sure. then of course tuesday came and they left and we went back to work. bleh!!! i did not want to get up early. it was so nice sleeping in for three days straight!
this month is going to be a busy one for me so i am trying to stay organized. now that i will be counting down the next 20 weeks until we see our little one i am sure at times it will seem like time is flying and then im sure it will seem like it's crawling... i just love this time of the year so i love that i am pregnant now! and have so much to look forward to.
i hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a wonderful week! Congrats to Melissa and Cary, yall's little baby boy is beautiful!!!!

time flies
Wow, in just four months Dennis and I will be married for 8 years... AND in just 5 months we will have our first baby. Our very own son. i am so excited. he is so much a part of our lives already. i love feeling him move. i am still not showing much but i sit at work and feel him kick me from time to time to remind me he is still there. i love it. it's so awesome. i never realized how awesome it would be but God has truly blessed me. i have had a great pregnancy so far and i am praying i have a great 20 more weeks. i know the end is rough. but i will perservere! i think my manager is surprised at how i still work all my hours and never leave early... or call in. but for now i am doing great so i dont want to take advantage of the situation... i know that later on it will be harder and harder but i can do it! i am so excited that my favorite time of the year is almost here... i love fall and Thanksgiving and Christmas... and i get to be pregnant at this time! it's so exciting. and to think next year at this time we will have our little one to celebrate the holidays with...
i hope that everyone has a great weekend and a safe holiday. Happy Labor Day! God bless!

What do you guys think?
19 weeks-oh and IT'S A BOY!
Your baby's sensory development is exploding! His brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that he may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, taking to him, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom —about the size of a large heirloom tomato. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on his skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
it's funny, on the babycenter website it says i may start to feel flutters... hmmmm this little guy has let me feel him for six weeks now. and as I write this he is kicking me pretty hard. yesterday during the ultrasound all of a sudden i had this pain really low and sure enough, the little guy was burying his head in my BLADDER.... geesh! it was painful. so after a few minutes the tech let me use the restroom. hahaha... so now i know what that "feeling" is when i have to run (really I have to walk slow) to the bathroom. the little stinker!!! i just know that soon enough his long skinny legs will be up in my ribs! fun fun for sure! :) but i dont care. i am just so excited about all of this. my little guy... in a way i kinda knew... the other night i was talking to him and called him Elijah. part of me felt guilty but the other part of me was so sure so i didnt care... so when she said boy i was so happy but in a way not surprised... now if it was a girl hahaah i really would have been like "hmmmm i cant really trust my gut instinct, can i?". oh well you have a 50/50 chance of being right so who cares really??? this is just so much fun. now i can look online when i am bored at work for baby stuff... this is so awesome!!! i will get a belly shot at 20 weeks cuz i dont have one for today. thank you everyone for your sweet comments! i cant wait to post his cute little pics up here but for now his pic of talking on the cell phone will have to do! LOL

WE ARE HAVING A.....

His arm
here is Elijah talking on the phone LOL

and here are his LONG legs and little pee pee
and it looks like he is grabbing it-ha haBOY!!!!
that's right you guys we are having a little boy... our very own son... i am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited i cant even explain or describe this feeling that i have... this is just truly a dream come true. i would have been happy no matter what but these past few weeks i have just had that "feeling" and thought "boy". but i didnt want anyone to think that i was not going to be happy with a girl. either way i am a mom and that's just what i have prayed and asked God for so this is just the icing on the cake!!!!
our little guy is sooooooooooooooooooooooo healthy. he has all his fingers and toes and is very big! he is measuring in the 80th percentile for now... which of course it's really early but the funny thing is that i always called him my "big boy" and just knew that with his strong kicks that this was a big boy... my big guy....
he has dennis' long legs and is just soo adorable... my little boy. gosh... i am so excited. this is just getting more and more real with each day that passes... everything looked great. we saw his kidneys, bladder, heart, spine, and brain... she said he looked great. he was face down so it was hard to get a face shot but finally she got a video of him chomping... it was funny. he looked like he was talking or eating... LOL
when i laid down it took her five seconds and she goes "well it's a boy" and we were like "what??? huh??? are you sure? um we want to see proof" LOL. i asked her to prove to me it wasnt the umbilical cord!!!! hahaha... but sure enough. he was spread eagle right there on the screen. my precious baby boy. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... sorry can you tell i am excited??? we just loved looking at him. we got to look at him for almost an hour... she was the greatest tech ever and i met the other doctor and she was great too!!! i have three different doctors i get to see this whole time just in case my main doctor is busy when i deliver. so that's nice...
i also lost a whole pound!!!!! so total to date is 20 lbs gained! praise the Lord!!!! i have been doing wayyyyyyyyyyy better so that's a good thing. i am not going to go in there and have my doctor try to put me on a strict diet! NO SIR! so i better start now. LOL... of course i do eat good so dont worry about me trying to diet... LOL.
well here is the post everyone wanted to see. and here are some pics of our little guy. i am going to try to upload a video and hopefully it will work... thanks for all the support! you guys rock!
and thank you Lord for our little son...Elijah... :) we havent decided 100% on a middle name but his name is Elijah... ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Elijah... i just love saying his name...

18 weeks and 6 days until we see our baby!

Your pregnancy: 18 weeks
How your baby's growing:Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long aboutt the length of a bell pepper ) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

ok so this is getting more and more exciting... my baby kicks me all the time... last night i was laying on the couch on my side and i breathed in really deep and back out and the baby just went crazy kicking me over and over LOL... of course the baby stops right when dennis wants to come over and feel him/her... then last night we went to bed and both of us were just so tired and dennis put his hand on my tummy and the baby kicked him several times... dennis hasnt felt the baby much lately so this made his day... he is going to have his hand on my belly all the time the further along i get!!! i cant wait for the baby to start getting excited when he/she hears their daddy's voice after a long day at work... it will be fun!!!
i am doing really good. some days i am more tired than others but i am feeling great. i drink lots of water and i eat decently... hahah i dont eat the best but i try. just depends on what i am craving at the time...
i cant wait to see my family in just two days! it will be exciting. and i know my mom cant wait cuz the last time i saw her i was 13 weeks along... so maybe now she will feel the baby kick...and i KNOW she wants to see my belly in person! hahaah!!!! oh and just six more days till we see our baby and what he/she is... i cant wait... it's going to be the greatest feeling in the world to see our little baby again. it's been so long since we last saw our baby kicking around...

the weekend
Stori, she was doing a dance... she made up cool dances all weekend and did a pretty good job... such a sweet little girl and loves attention!!!
this weekend was nice... we decided last minute to go see his mom and sisters so we left early (very early) saturday morning... and we hung out all day sat and sun then got home sunday night... we got to see his three sisters and our two nieces and nephew... they were fun. they are such cute kids and we wish we saw them more often... they are growing up before our eyes... Stori is 9 and Alexis is 7 and Braeden is 4... they are sooooooooooooo silly and goofy and hilarious!!! Alexis is a doll, she and I had a really great connection from the day she was born... their mom used to let me take her for a day or two and babysit her when she was very little. then i would take the two girls and baby sit them at times... it was so fun. and then little Braeden came along and he is just such a cute kid... my husband just adores him. he's Dennis' little buddy. i love seeing them together and knowing that one day he will have a son God willing. right when they got there Alexis came running to me and just hugged on me and sat in my lap. i tease the girls cuz they are so skinny and i tell them their bony butts hurt my legs when they jump on my lap! LOL Stori kept rubbing my belling and wanting to feel the baby move. poor girl, she never got to but she tried hard. or when she would walk by she would rub my belly and talk to the baby. so sweet... i told her that the next time i see her she will definately feel the baby move... Braeden just didnt understand what they meant by "Aunt Kiss has a baby in her belly" LOL... poor little guy. hahah...
we had a great time with his sisters and mom and just relaxed most the weekend. on sat i was so tired i took a nap and then fell asleep around 10:30 that night... i am used to sleeping in most saturdays so getting up at 4:45am was NOT fun... ha. other than that i was fine... the baby was pretty active all weekend though... i still cant believe i am not showing as much as i think i should be. but like i said, the smaller the better for now! :)
i hope you enjoy the pictures i LOVE the one of Dennis and Braeden... they are just so hilarious!!!
